The City of Love

Paris is well known as one of the most romantic cities in the world. However, romance is not the only thing on offer there. There is plenty to see and do and a lot to explore. Paris is a very large city and notoriously annoying to get to. By train, the ordeal is a little easier, but by plane and car, you can have a rough time arriving. The ring road around Paris can be a nightmare at certain times of the day and the Charles De Gaulle airport is like a maze to navigate.

Once you arrive in the city you will find quaint streets, stunning architecture and of course, the famous buildings. The Eiffel Tower, Louvre Art Museum and the Arc De Triomphe are obvious must sees and rightly so. The Eiffel tower, in particular, is just as magnificent at night as during the day when the entire structure lights up. There are many more sights to be seen in addition to the above also.

Make sure you spend some time simply wandering around the streets of Paris. There are some fabulous streets that are a joy to walk down. Often you can find a cafe or restaurant at the end of these streets that are worthwhile checking out. Try to stay off the main streets when looking for something to eat, and obviously avoid the heavy tourist spots to find places with reasonable prices.

Enjoy wine and excellent cuisine virtually anywhere in the city. Wine is a lot cheaper than beer and is considered the more popular drink as well. Try to enjoy some if you can to get the full Parisian experience. The people of Paris can be a bit temperamental at times and are pretty much the only negative in a whole host of positives. Make sure you visit this fantastic city as soon as you can.

Speaking of France, I have just found this competition where the prize is ski accommodation for a chalet in the Alps. All of you should really enter, this would be a marvelous way to spend what is left of the winter!
