French artists thrive on the cheap baguettes that are ubiquitous. Baguettes come in different varieties and though they are not eaten alone, they certainly are filling.

You can try the tasty macarons and viennoises from these pastry shops. Macarons are almond-based cookies with a creamy middle and viennoises are bread with chocolate chips. These are classic French sweets and can be purchased for less than two Euros. Some of the finest pastry shops in Paris are Jean-Charles Rochoux, Au Grand Richelieu, and the Rose Bakery.

To eat in swanky restaurants is part of the experience of Paris. You must of course savor the creations of super chefs like Alain Passard or Pierre Gagnaire. However, you can also easily enjoy food that is wholesome, delicious, reasonably priced, and readily available.
